On this date 30 years ago, a man and his wife welcomed a baby girl. Ten weeks premature and weighing a little over two pounds, the doctors were uncertain of her future. So the man prayed and asked God to take his strength and give it to his daughter that she would survive. God granted the father's request and he became sickly, but his daughter grew strong. So the man named his daughter Gabrielle because God was his strength and He is now her Strength.
Thanking God for being my strength and allowing me to see 30 years. Truly, the best is yet to come!

Are you a good friend???
I have a very bad habit of reading text messages and answering calls while I'm asleep. When I awake, I often don't remember the conversations or lack of that were had. It can be frustrating be. There's a biblical proverb that says, A man that has friends must show himself friendly (Proverbs 18:24).
I have a small group of people that I consider to be my friends. Some I've known since before elementary school. Others, I gained over the years through various jobs or social activities. I try my best to keep in touch and with technological advances such as Facebook, Twitter, mobile email and the like, it should not be that hard, right? Not exactly. There's something to be said about picking up the phone to call or having lunch with a friend. It strengthens the bond of friendships the way Twitter, Facebook, and emails cannot.
With that said, to my circle of friends, I will try to better with the calling, lunch dates, etc. I know we're all busy and it's so easy to get caught up in our own little worlds- work, family, church, volunteerism and the like- but we need friends and so we must remain friendly. Okay...back to busyness! Have a good one!
